All night skate set for New Year’s Eve in Greene County

The Greene County Department of Recreation will ring in the New Year with an “All Night Skate” beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday at the Mon View Roller Rink and Community Center in Greensboro. Sponsored by the Greene County commissioners and Range Resources, the skate will last until 6 a.m. Friday.

The event is intended for children and teens 17 and younger. There is an admission charge.

Children 10 and younger must be accompanied by an adult, and parents of children and teens ages 11-17 must complete a registration and consent form before leaving the roller rink.

Planned activities include a “Guitar Hero” competition, games and prizes, and hot dogs and sauerkraut at midnight. Rent-A-Center of Waynesburg will donate a large-screen TV for the “Guitar Hero” contest.

Winter skating hours for Mon View are 7 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

There is a charge for admission and skate rental. There is also a general admission charge to the facility.

Mon View is available to rent for private parties or corporate fundraisers for two hours. The price covers admission and skate rental for 20 people. An additional fee per person will be charged for more than 20 people.

Additionally, skate lessons at Mon View are available by appointment only.
