Margaret A. “Peggy” Clark Goberni
Margaret A. “Peggy” Clark Goberni, 58, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Mary (Glancy) Clark and the late Donald F. Clark.
She graduated from Miami University of Ohio, earned a graduate degree from Marshall University and also studied at the University of London, England and Seton Hill University.
She was employed with her husband in their consulting business.
“Peggy” was previously employed by the American Red Cross at the National and Regional levels with focus on chapter development, Health and Youth and Blood Services and received many performance and achievement awards.
She also served as a Supervisor for the Speech Pathology and Audiology Department for the Kanawha County West Virginia Board of Education.
She was a member of Saint Rita Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville and also their Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
“Peggy” was President of the Fayette County Branch of the American Association of University Women.
She served as a board member of the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers as well as the Crime Victims Center and was a Laubach International Certified Literacy Trainer and Tutor.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dr. Joseph M. Goberni of Connellsville; a brother, Bob Clark and his wife Kathy of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; two sisters: Anne Schrey and her husband Vance of Johnstown, Pennsylvania and Mary Pat Sheridan and her husband Tim of North Topsail Beach, North Carolina; and also several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass celebrating Peggy’s life will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the SAINT RITA ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 116 South Second Street, Connellsville, with the Reverend Father Sean Code as Celebrant and the Reverend Father Joseph Bonafed Concelebrating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Connellsville St. Vincent DePaul Society or the Fayette County Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers both in care of the Paul G. Fink Funeral Home Inc., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425.
