War Veterans Commitee receives donation

The War and Veterans Committee is thankful for the postage donations it has received from Abundant Life Church, Mrs. Fitzsimmons, First Catholic Slovak Union 162, Burchanti Family, Herald-Standard newspaper, Fayette County real estate agents and all others who have assisted in shipping more than 188 packages during the last two weeks to the troops in Afghanistan, Iraq and various hospitals, according to Joe T. Joseph, chairman of the War and Veterans. “Also, the committee wishes to extend sincere thanks to the Frasier School District, Albert Gallatin School District and the Jr. ROTC, Laurel Highlands School District, California Area School District, Uniontown Area School District, St. John’s the Evangelist Roman Catholic school and church, Giant Eagle, Shop ‘n Save and all other persons who have whole heartily assisted us.”

Joseph said 662 more requests have been submitted for first time soldiers who are arriving daily in harms way.

“Your help is needed for us to continue our package program to our troops. If you need any assistance in getting your soldiers name on our list, contact us at once,” he said. Checks may be made payable to War and Veterans, 322 Dixon Boulevard, Uniontown, Pa. 15401, telephone 724-438-8688.
