Don’t close Ryerson Park, says reader
I read about the possibility of closing Ryerson State Park. This is our state park, and the only one for a long ways. Do you remember Dr. Maurice Goddard, who wanted every Pennsylvania resident to have a state park within 25 miles where they could take their family and enjoy it in a day and not have to travel a long distance?
He would be so disappointed in the way they have treated Duke Lake, which has been dry for four years. We have been promised that it would be restored for us. We are still watching for that to happen.
We still have a beautiful park there, as long as you don’t look at the dried up lake. We have an annual festival there. People still picnic there and swim in the pool. It is our only free entertainment in this area.
Please don’t take that away! We pay taxes, too.
