Police say Uledi man shot himself

1 min read

State police Trooper James Pierce said that a Uledi man found suffering a gunshot wound to his right shoulder Sunday apparently shot himself after arguing with his girlfriend. Pierce said William D. Reckner, 31, was found suffering a gunshot wound to his right shoulder at his 174 Playford Road home shortly after 2 a.m. Pierce said Reckner was flown from the scene by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., for treatment, where he remained in stable condition Monday.

Initially, it was unclear if another person shot Reckner or if the wound was self-inflicted.

Pierce said that investigators learned that Reckner used a .38-caliber pistol on himself following an argument.
