Josephine A. DeFrank Porreca
Josephine A. DeFrank Porreca, age 83, of Newboro, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in Uniontown Hospital. Born on May 19, 1926, in Newboro, Fayette County, Pa., Josephine was the daughter of Domenick DeFrank and Anna (Nigro) DeFrank.
Josephine was a member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown and graduated from Uniontown High School, Class of 1944.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Mario Porreca; her children: Linda Alexander and her husband Joseph of Uniontown, Pa., Loretta Vernon and fiance’ Andrew Bohatch, Uniontown, Pa., Patty Rose and husband Jerry of Altoona, Pa., and Joe Porreca and his wife Denise of Belle Vernon, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Leann Cellurale and husband James, Julie Softa and her husband Justin, Jeremy Rose and wife Amy, Jonathan Rose, Emily Lonero and husband Matt, Mario Porreca, Mia Porreca; six great-grandchildren; and her brother, Frank DeFrank and his wife Evelyn “Sis” of New Salem, Pa.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, July 13, 2009 until 9:15 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Mill Street, with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak, V.F., as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pennsylvania.
Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home today at 2:30 p.m.
Visitation was also held on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
