Carmichaels Chamber makes contributions
The directors of the Carmichaels Area Chamber of Commerce met July 7 and made contributions to two events. A check for $50 was sent to the Ice Plant in Greensboro for the 13th annual Car Show to be held on Saturday, July 18. Proceeds benefit various Greene County non-profit Children’s organizations. Also, $100 was donated to the Carmichaels Community Day Picnic to be held Saturday, Aug. 1, at Wana B Park. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with free swimming for the first 200 people. The event is for all ages and will include free lunch, free raffles, 50/50 drawing, music and karaoke.
It was announced that the Chamber of Commerce float that carries the new Pennsylvania Bituminous Coal Queen and her court in the King Coal parade, in August, is being cleaned and prepared for the event.
The next meeting of the chamber in the Greene Academy will be held Aug. 4.
