A Uniontown man is behind bars after he allegedly had explicit sexual conversations on the Internet with undercover law enforcement agents. The state Attorney General’s office said Dominic J. Galliani, 44, of 9 Thomas St. was charged Thursday in Dauphin County on charges of unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility. According to Nils Frederiksen, spokesman for the Attorney General’s office, the charges were filed against Galliani after a special agent with the office’s Child Predator Unit opened an Internet account in an online chat room where she pretended to be a 14-year-old girl.

While chatting Jan. 23, the agent said she started conversing with Galliani. The agent said that Galliani spoke explicitly about sex with the agent and also “taught” her how to hide her messages from her “mother.”

On four separate occasions, while allegedly staying at a hotel in the Pittsburgh area for work, police said Galliani performed sexual acts that he captured on a camera and allowed the agent to view them on the Internet.

While police closed in on Galliani, agents said he approached a second officer by an instant chat room message. The second undercover officer was pretending to be a 13-year-old girl.

Police said Galliani sent that officer nude photographs of men.

The final contact between an undercover officer and Galliani was made on June 25 when Galliani again performed a sexual act on himself for the undercover officer.

Police said an arrest warrant was obtained and agents from the Attorney General’s office staged at the Uniontown Police Department on Penn Street early Thursday before raiding Galliani’s home. Galliani was taken into custody without incident.

Galliani was placed in the Dauphin County Prison on $75,000 straight cash bond.

A preliminary hearing has been set for 10 a.m. July 29 in Dauphin County Central Court.

Galliani does not have a prior record, according to Fayette County Court records. Galliani
