Merrill K. Mitchell
Merrill K. Mitchell, age 77, of Leisenring, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009, in Golden Living Center, Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Born September 16, 1931 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Jasper K. Mitchell and Helen E. Densmore Mitchell.
Merrill was a longtime resident of Leisenring.
He graduated from the now former North Union Township High School with the Class of 1949.
Prior to his retirement, Merrill worked as an Electrician for IBEW Local 5.
Merrill was predeceased by his wife, Vivian Irene Cole Mitchell in 2003, and parents.
Merrill is survived by his daughters: Malinda Mitchell of Seattle, Washington, Roberta Smith and husband Robert of Leisenring, Pennsylvania; granddaughters: Jennifer Coss and her husband Phillip and Katherine Smith all of Leisenring; great granddaughter, Gwen Coss; brothers; Laverne, Dale, Danny and Dwayne all of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; and his sisters, Eleanor of Oil City, Pennsylvania, Miriam of Kansas, Lois, Dolly and Carolee all of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
Family and Friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. in BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., where a Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Marvin C. Watson officiating.
A Committal Service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Pine Springs Camp, Jennerstown, PA 15547 in memory of Merrill K. Mitchell.
