PennDOT sets work schedule
Chris Sleighter, Fayette County manager with PennDOT, has announced the following tentative work plans for the week beginning Monday. – The bridge crew will continue with bridge replacement on state Route 1031 (Broadford-Owensdale Road). – Shoulder cutting is scheduled on state Route 1018 (Vances Mill Road), state Route 1051 (Bute Road), state Route 1049 (Eighty Acres Road) and state Route 1047 (Little Summit/Monarch Road).
– Bridge cleaning is scheduled to take place in the Indian Head/Mill Run area.
– Shoulder drop off repairs is scheduled on state Route 2006 in the Five Forks area.
– Patching is scheduled on state Route 119 (Memorial Boulevard) and state Route 2012 (Sugarloaf).
– Repairing shoulder washouts is scheduled on state Route 51, Northbound from Uniontown to the Westmoreland County line.
– Drainage upgrading is scheduled on state Route 166 in the New Geneva area.
– Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.
All maintenance activities are conducted as the weather permits. PennDOT said motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights.
PennDOT has a 24-hour toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. The number also can be used to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).
