Shirley Jean Swihart Darnell
Shirley Jean Swihart Darnell 69 years, of Gans, Fayette County, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on July 21, 2009. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She enjoyed having her Family around her and adored all of her Grandchildren!
She was predeceased by her parents, Luther Swihart and Darris Tallman Swihart; and two brothers, Terry Swihart and Dave Swihart.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Albert Darnell; seven daughters and spouses: Regina Darnell, Gans, Pa., Debbie Kelley and Roy, Markleysburg, Pa., Brenda Reese and Donald, Lake Lynn, Pa., Donna Darnell and Johnnie, Lake Lynn, Pa., Bonnie Medved, Old Frame, Pa., Louann Lavitsky and Bob, Smithfield, Pa., and Cathy Phares and Chubbs, Gans, Pa.; son and spouse, Randy Darnell and Debbie, Uniontown, Pa.; twenty-one grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four brothers: Donald and Cheryl Swihart and Joe and Lou Swihart, Lake Lynn, Pa., Bill and Penny Swihart, Fairchance, Pa., and Sam and Linda Swihart, Fairmont, West Virginia; one sister, Carolyn and Rick Thompson, Tampa, Florida; a special relative, Jake Darnell; also many very special nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-laws: Diane Swihart, Morgantown, West Virginia, and Bertha “Tinny” Swihart, Lake Lynn, Pa.
Family will receive Friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, July 27, 2009, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Michael Tallman officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Union Cemetery, Morgantown, West Virginia.
Visitation was also held on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
