Police secure warrants for Monessen women after alleged assault
Police said they have secured warrants for the arrest of two Monessen woman following an assault and burglary at a residence in Belle Vernon July 19. Southwest Regional police said Magisterial District Judge Jesse Cramer issued warrants for Cheresse Carter, 21, of 1017 Highland Manor and Darina Carpenter, 18, of 936 Leeds Ave. after the women allegedly assaulted Jessica Rozik of Belle Vernon at her home. According to police, the assault occurred around 8:40 p.m. when the suspects arrived at Rozik’s home and began harassing her.
During the incident, police said the suspects were able to gain entry into Rozik’s home and assaulted her. Police said that after beating Rozik, the women also damaged multiple items inside the home, including computer equipment. Police said that the suspects also stole Rozik’s purse.
Rozik suffered minor injuries, police said.
Police said Carter is charged with burglary, simple assault, criminal trespassing and four counts of criminal mischief.
Carpenter is charged with burglary, criminal trespassing and theft, police said.
