Arrest warrant issued for man

2 min read

State police are continuing to search for a Phillips man accused of using a stolen credit card to make multiple purchases in South Union Township in late June. Trooper David L. Bell said a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Anthony Lee Rowe, 35, on charges of theft and forgery after he allegedly stole a credit card owned by Joyce Gogel of Uniontown. According to Bell, Gogel dropped her credit card on a road in Phillips on June 30.

Bell said that Rowe, along with Danielle Sue Guthrie, 32, also of Phillips, found the card and then used it to make purchases at Wal-Mart, Super K-Mart, Target and Exxon. Police identified both suspects from surveillance video taken at Target.

Bell said when he approached the residence of Rowe and Guthrie on Hickory Street to question them about the card, they fled out the rear and left the area.

Bell said Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr then issued a search warrant for their home.

Inside the residence, Bell said officers found multiple items that had been purchased with the stolen credit card.

He said that during the search of the home, Guthrie returned and turned herself into police.

Rowe remains at large.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-439-7111.
