REUNION ANNOUNCED – The 2009 Muddy Creek Reunion will be held Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Greene County Historical Society Museum. Gathering time is 4 p.m. and dinner is 5 p.m. Old friends are encouraged to come and are urged to invite their friends and neighbors. Hot dogs, rolls and beverage will be provided. Individuals are to bring a covered dish to be shared in the dinner buffet. Plates, cups and silverware will be provided. If a tour of the museum is desired, a $2 donation is requested. ANNUAL GATHERING – The Walnut Hill / Keener School / Moffit Gang, also known as “Bill Brown’s Bus Students,” will hold their second “Ol’ Time Get Together” on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Bobtown Rod and Gun Club, beginning at 6 p.m. The first gathering, which serves as Dilliner reunion for the span of 1945 – 1952, was a success, and there are hopes that this year will be even better. ANIMAL CARE – Catnip Acres and Animal Friends of Pittsburgh have partnered to offer feline spays and neuters for just $25 for Greene County cats. Also included in the $25 fee is a rabies shot, Frontline for fleas, and treatment for earmites. Distemper shots will be administered for an extra $5. Kittens must weigh 2 pounds or be approximately 3 months old. Humane traps will also be available for feral cats and large colonies. August 6, 13, & 28. To schedule an appointment, call 724-998-5910. FAMILY REUNION – The Guthrie Fox Reunion will be held Sept. 6 at 12:30 p.m. at the Center Township Park in Rogersville. Please bring a covered dish, etc. All descendants are welcome. For more information, call Phyllis at 724-966-2394.

GUEST SPEAKER – Former Senator Roy C. Afflerbach will speak at the Waynesburg Senior Center on Friday, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. Afflerbach is the founder and President of The Afflerbach Group, LLC, principal lobbyist for Senior Centers across Pennsylvania. Afflerbach’s appearance will focus on issues facing all Senior Centers across the state. For more information, call 724-627-6366.

FRIDAY DANCE – The Carmichaels Activity Center is holding Friday night dances each week from 7 – 11 p.m. The band on Aug. 7 is “Freedom Country,” and admission is $7.

CLOTHES GIVEAWAY – A “School Clothes Giveaway” for youths in grades kindergarten through 12 will be held on Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Waynesburg. Good used or new clothes will be accepted at the church daily from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sponsored by WWJD of West Waynesburg.

BINGO NIGHTS – Bingo will be held at the following locations, dates and times: Waynesburg VFW, each Monday night at 6:30 p.m., doors open at 5; The Waynesburg Women of the Moose, every Monday night at 6:30 p.m., doors open at 5:30; and Carmichaels Moose, every Sunday night with a progressive jackpot, early bird begins at 6 p.m.
