Joseph W. Retucci
Joseph W. Retucci, Sr., 90, of Millsboro, Pa., died Wednesday, June 3, 2009. He was born July 5, 1918, a son of Michael and Angelina Retucci. He was the beloved husband of the late Agnes Shaw Retucci.
He retired as a coal miner from Clyde Mine, Fredericktown, where he worked for over 40 years. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. Local 688. Mr. Retucci served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Hanson Cole Post 391 in Fredericktown.
Joe was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardner. He enjoyed cooking and watching the cooking channel on TV.
He is survived by two sons: Joe (Debbie) Retucci of Waynesburg, Jim (Janice) Retucci of Millsboro; two daughters: Sandy (Buddy) Trunzo of Fredericktown, and Jane (Marilee) Retucci of Washington; a sister, Josephine Bane; five grandsons; one granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Retucci and a sister, Mary Rinelli.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FRANK BURKUS FUNERAL HOME, 26 Mill Street, Millsboro, Pa., and Saturday, June 6, from Noon to 1 p.m., the time of the service with Father Paul Grunebach officiating.
Hanson Cole Post 391 will conduct Full Military Rites.
Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
