Service station robbed

1 min read

Uniontown police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday night at a convenience store. Police said they were called to the Sunoco service station on Connellsville Street shortly after 10 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. Sgt. Jonathan Grabiak said store employee Andrea Ohler, no address available, told police that the suspect entered the store and appeared to have a gun in his pocket. Ohler told police that the suspect demanded money and she threw an undetermined amount of cash from the register at him, Grabiak said. The suspect grabbed the money and then ran from the store toward Main Street.

Grabiak said police canvassed the area looking for the suspect.

He said police also reviewed surveillance video from the store.

Grabiak described the suspect as a white man with a smaller build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the words “South Pole” on it and the number 21. Grabiak said the suspect also was wearing light-colored, baggy blue jeans and white tennis shoes with black marks on the front and back.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call police at 724-430-2929.
