Rose Sweitzer, 90, of Fayette City, Pa., passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2009 in the Laurel Ridge Nursing Center, Uniontown, Pa. She was born November 16, 1918 in Sandy Plains, Pa., daughter of the late Jiuliano D’Antonio and the late Carmella Ross D’Antonio.

She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and the former Our Lady of Prepetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Newell. She was also a member of Saint John’s Travel Club in Perryopolis, Pa.

Surviving are her son, A.J. Sweitzer of Fayette City with whom she had made her home; daughter: Cassandra Garell and husband, John of Hermitage, Pa.; three grandchildren: Diane Bacon and husband, Patrick of Maple Plain, MN, Karen Anderson and husband, David of Plymouth, MN and Cheryl Curtis and husband, Rick of Carver, MN; eight great-grandchildren and niece, Gloria Colaizza of Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Sweitzer, brother, Americo D’Antonio and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Lucille Sweitzer.

Friends will be received in the ELEY/McCRORY FUNERAL HOME, INC., Main St., Fayette City today, June 17, 2009 until 9:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will take place followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Lawrence Manchas as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
