Elizabeth “Libby” Bakewell
Elizabeth “Libby” Bakewell, 93, of Brownsville, Pa., died on Wednesday, June 17, 2009. She was born on October 17, 1915, in Four States, W.Va., daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Hall Flint.
“Libby” was a homemaker and excellent cook, known for her macaroni salad.
She was an avid Bingo player most of her life.
She was a member of the West Brownsville V.F.W. Auxiliary and the West Brownsville Civic Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Weldor Bakewell in 1965, son, James Richard Bakewell, daughters, Donna Jean Bakewell, Patricia Kudyba and Judy Moon.
She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Ann Null and husband George of West Brownsville, Pa., Robert Bakewell and wife Donna of Uniontown, Pa., Thomas Bakewell and wife Judy of Leonardtown, Md., twins: Weldor W. Bakewell, of Shelby, Ohio, and Caroline Cohen and husband Sheldon of Gary, Ind., James R. Bakewell and wife Jean of West Brownsville; brother, Joseph Flint of Low Hill, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many close nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today, from 2 to 8 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Timothy Tanner officiating.
Interment Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville.
