Ann M. Baran Riffle
Ann M. (Baran) Riffle of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, died Friday, June 19, 2009, in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born in Puritan, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of John and Pauline Baran.
Ann was a member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, St. Therese Altar Society, and was also a member of the Funeral Choir.
She graduated from the now former German Township High School, McClellandtown.
A devoted wife and most wonderful mother, Ann placed great care into everything that she did—tending her garden, canning and crocheting. She loved African Violets, and also loved “Skippy”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel P. Riffle in 1986; a brother, Andrew; and three sisters, Susan Desko, Pauline Ciccore, Mary Campau.
Surviving are her loving daughter, Janet A. Petlevich of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; a sister, Kathryn Lamonica of Wilmington, Delaware; and many other loving relatives.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue, Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today (Monday, June 22, 2009) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, until 9:30 a.m. when the Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Mill Street, with Monsignor Michael W. Matusak, V. F., as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 7829 National Pike, Uniontown, PA 15401 or to the American Cancer Society.
Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home this afternoon at 3 p.m.
Saint Therese Altar Society will recite the Rosary in the Funeral Home this evening at 7 p.m.
