Eleanor C. (Bartolomucci) Pidanich, 78, of Newell, Pa., passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2009 in the Jefferson Hills Manor. She was born July 13, 1930 in Newell, Pa., a daughter of the late Nicholo Bartolomucci and the late Teresa Enos Bartolomucci.

She was a loving, kind and compassionate wife, mother and friend and was loved by all who knew her. Eleanor enjoyed photography and chronicled the life of her extended family and hometown by the many photo albums she lovingly compiled. She was a member of the Santa Barbara Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies Guild, Newell VFW Post Ladies Guild and sang soprano for many years in the church choir of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Newell, Pa.

Eleanor worked for a time at the old G.C. Murphy Store in Brownsville, then attended Pennsylvania Beauty Academy at which she won the Top Student Award. After graduating, she pursued a career as a self employed cosmotologist which spanned over four decades.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, Frank Pidanich; her children: daughter, Sandra (Pidanich) Fordian of Newell; two sons: Frank Pidanich and fiancee’, Trish Bryson of Charlotte, NC and Donald Pidanich and wife, Donna of Perryopolis; brother, Donald Bartolomucci and wife, Marjorie of Scenery Hill and their children; brother-in-law, Gerry Powell of Newell and his children; sister-in-law, Judith Bartolomucci of Newell and her children; three grandchildren: Jennifer Fordian, Frank Pidanich II and Becky (Fordian) Barrett and husband, J.J. and great-grandchild, Adam Barrett.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank “Mucci” Bartolomucci, sister, Pauline Powell and step-father, John Myrga.

Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME, INC., Main St. Fayette City today and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday, June 26, 2009 until 1:30 p.m. when a blessing service will take place followed by a Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Lawrence Manchas as Celebrant.

Entombment will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Parish Rosary Service will take place in the Funeral Home today at 3 p.m.
