Robert John Hurley Sr.
Robert John Hurley Sr., age 87 of Uniontown, Pa. passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday afternoon May 3, 2009 in the Golden Living Center, Uniontown. He was born November 22, 1921 in New Salem, Pa., the son of the late Dennis Hurley and Elizabeth Cassidy Hurley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and his granddaughter, Tiffany Lynn Hurley.
Robert was a United States Veteran serving in the Army during WWII. He retired from United States Steel with 33 years of service and was a member of the Waltersburg Church of the Nazarene.
Robert was completely devoted to his family. When he met someone he always made it a point to say “God Bless”. He lived by the phrase that we are all family of God.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Charlotte Christine “Sue” Foor Hurley; his loving and devoted children: Charlotte Matthews and husband Thomas of Uniontown, Robert J. Hurley Jr., and wife Michelle of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Ellen Colleen Pocratsky and husband Conrad of Uniontown and Dr. James Hurley and wife Lauren of Connellsville, Pa.; his grandchildren: Doug Matthews and wife Kim, Christine Miles and husband Nathan, Adam Hurley, Aaron Hurley and wife Heather, Derek Pocratsky, Danny Pocratsky and wife Christine, David Pocratsky and Fianc?e, Emily, Clay Hurley, Trenton Hurley and Shannon Hurley; great Grandchildren: Claira and Caden Matthews, Grace, Jonathan and Sarah Miles and his special nephew, Patrick Hurley and his wife Kathy of Clifton, Virginia.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. today, May 5, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday morning, May 6, 2009 until 11 am the Hour of Service.
Interment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
AMVETS Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors at Graveside.
