Thomas B. “Buck” Hosler
Thomas B. “Buck” Hosler, age 58 of Brownsville, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in the VA Medial Center, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born on June 21, 1950 in Brownsville, Pa., son of the late Eugene and Leona Leighliter Hosler.
He was a graduate of Brownsville Area High School Class of 1969. He was a graduate of Brownsville Area High School Class of 1969.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he worked as a medical corpsman at the Valley Forge Military Hospital taking care of our wounded veterans returning home.
Thomas belonged to the Brownsville Eagles where he was a past officer for many years. He was a member of the Brownsville American Legion Post 295, South Brownsville Fire Dept., past member of the Fayette County Firemen’s Association and the South-western Pennsylvania Fire Chiefs’ Association.
Thomas spent many hours watching TV, especially the old Westerns and he loved all sports, especially his Steelers.
He is survived by his beloved fiancee’ Brenda Richie who was by his side during his long battle with cancer; sister Carrie Henning and husband Lewis of Batavia, N.Y.; brothers: Patrick Hosler and wife Patricia of Tampa, Fla., Lewis Hosler and wife Marciene of Brownsville, Pa., Eugene Hosler and wife Doris of Shanksville, Pa., John Hosler of Brownsville, Pa.; cousin Terry Hosler of Fayette City, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother James M. Hosler and a niece Linda Hosler.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa. today (Wednesday) from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Paul Sandusky officiating.
Interment in Bridgeport Cemetery with full military rites accorded by American Legion Posts 295, 940 and 838.
