1 min read

NEWELL – Southwest Regional police are investigating an alleged home invasion at a residence in Newell last week. Police Chief John D. Hartman said the incident occurred at 4:43 a.m. April 28 at the Third Street home of Hollie Sabolek. According to Hartman, at least two men broke into Sabolek’s home while an unidentified resident and a child were both sleeping inside.

Hartman said the suspects entered the home through a window and removed a flat-screen television, a DVD camcorder and several pieces of jewelry, including a charm bracelet and a Connellsville Area High School graduation ring.

He said that the resident awoke when the family dog started to bark. The resident told police that she saw two suspects running from the home carrying the TV.

Hartman said that the day after police started to investigate the incident, Sabolek found the camcorder returned to her home. He said that the undamaged electronic device was left outside her garage door.

Hartman said police are continuing to investigate the alleged burglary and home invasion.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.
