Juries return guilty verdicts

Two cases prosecuted during criminal court week in Fayette County last week included two unrelated drug cases, both of which resulted in guilty verdicts. Christopher Cumberland, 25, of Perryopolis was convicted of two counts each of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver drugs and one count of possession with intent to deliver drugs for drug sales on April 11, 2008, in Connellsville. President Judge Conrad B. Capuzzi set his sentencing for May 20.

James Walter Albright, 41, of Connellsville was convicted of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver drugs, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia for a drug sale on May 10, 2008.

Judge Gerald R. Solomon will sentence him on May 14.

In other cases, Jill Yvonne Jacob, 49, of Uniontown was convicted of promoting prostitution on May 2, 2008, in Uniontown. Judge John F. Wagner will sentence her at a later date.

Daniel Henry Ward, 23, of Acme was acquitted of receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy to commit theft from a motor vehicle. Those charges were filed after an alleged incident on July 8, 2007, in Acme.
