Leo “Jake” Wilson
Leo “Jake” Wilson, age 85, of Smithfield, Pa., died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at home with his Family at his bedside. He was born April 25, 1924, in Smithfield, Pennsylvania, the son of Leo Wilson and Hattie Breakiron Wilson.
“Jake” served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.
He was a Life Member of the National Rifle Association.
He also was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 1319 and the North American Hunters Association.
He was predeceased by his parents, two grandchildren, Randi and Amanda, five sisters, Sadie Moser, Mary Robinson, Anna Battisti, Marie Wilburn and Ruth Fowler, and three brothers, Frank Wilson, O. J. Wilson, Charles Wilson.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Nora Powell Wilson; three children: Randy Wilson and his wife Debbie of Vaughn Montana, Joyce Wilson of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and Brenda Lee Churilla and her husband James of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; grand children: Charles Johnston of San Jose, California, Ryan Fazenbaker and Tiffany of Masontown, Pennsylvania, Chelsea Churilla and Philip Churilla of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; and two great grandsons: Jake Ryan Fazenbaker and Dillon Michael Fazenbaker.
The Family will receive Friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME at 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 27, until 10 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. French Jenkins and the Rev. George W. McLaughlin officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
