Mrs. Bessie Helen Upole-Sherrill, age 102, of Wilmington, DE, died on Sunday, May 24, 2009, at her residence. Mrs.Upole-Sherrill was born in Deer Park, MD on June 27, 1906, daughter of the late Thomas McRobie and Jessie Collins McRobie.

A talented homemaker, she greatly enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking. She was a devout Christian throughout her life and was very active in church work with the Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Clark Upole, second husband, Virgil Sherrill, son, Charles Upole, Jr., daughter, Elaine Triplett, and sister, Beulah Holland.

She is survived by her daughters: Betty Snow of Lewes, DE and husband, Coy Snow of Elsmere, DE and Joanne Rohm and husband, Joe, of Newark, DE; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grand-children; and eight great-great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 27, 2009, in the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2009, at Church Hill Cemetery, Springer Road, McClellandtown, PA.
