PennDOT announces work plans

Chris Sleighter, Fayette County manager with the state Department of Transportation, has announced the following tentative work plans for the week beginning Monday: n The bridge crew will be performing deck repairs on state Route 1058 (County Line Road).

n?Patching is scheduled on state Route 1055 in the Dunbar Mountain area, state Route 2011 in the Five Forks-Ohiopyle area and state Route 381 (Mill Run Road).

n?Patching of a bridge crossing is scheduled on state Route 1049 (Eighty Acres Road).

n?Pipe flushing is scheduled on state Route 40 in the Summit area.

n?Cleaning ditches is scheduled on state Route 4006 (New Salem Road), state Route 381 (Mill Run Road) and state Route 1051 (Breakneck Road).

n Bell Drive to Morrell Avenue), Route 119 from Smithfield to Sycamore and state Route 51 north and south from Perryopolis to the Westmoreland County line.

n Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

All maintenance activities are conducted as the weather permits. PennDOT said motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights.

PennDOT has a 24-hour toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.

The number also can be used to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).
