Jack Bartos
Jack Bartos, age 73 years of Uniontown, Pennsylvania died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 22, 1936 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania the son of Stephen Bartos and Maude Moore Bartos.
Jack graduated in the Class of 1954 from Uniontown High School.
He served in the United States Marine Corps.
Jack retired as the Greens Superintendent from the Uniontown Country Club.
He was a member of Abundant Life Church.
Jack is survived by his wife, LInda R. Abel Bartos; his daughter, Brooke Lindsey Bartos of Uniontown; an uncle, Rudy Bartos of Auburn, Maine brothers-in-law: David Abel and wife Fran of Fairchance, Pennsylvania, James Abel of Fairchance and Lester Abel and his wife Margaret of Long Island, New York; three sisters-in-law: Edith Cole and husband Earl of Fairchance, Marie Williams of Fairchance, Florence Stark of Baltimore, Maryland; also many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful dog, Bookie.
The family would like to give a “Special Thanks” to Joan and Wayne Bowers and Carol Stewart, the Albert Gallatin Hospice and also to Acute Care Nurse Joanne Crossland.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where friends will be received on Tuesday from 12 Noon until 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue of Wednesday, November 3, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a Service celebrating Jack’s life beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Nicholas J. Cook officiating.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to Abundant Life Church, 1239 Brownfield Road, Uniontown, PA 15401 or to Albert Gallatin Hospice, 20 Highland Park Drive, Uniontown, PA 15401.
