AGHS Band
Masontown news The Albert Gallatin Colonial Marching Band is sponsoring its annual fruit sale until Nov. 15. This is the band’s annual fundraiser to support the high school band program. Fruit is available in bushel and half-bushel quantities as well as mix boxes and gift boxes. Fruit will be delivered Dec. 7 with an inclement weather date of Dec. 14 due to shipping. Customers may also UPS gift box orders anywhere in the United States in time for Christmas. Fallingwater
Fallingwater is offering free admission to Fayette County residents on Friday and again on Nov. 15.
Community Kitchen
The next Masontown Community Kitchen meal will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. The kitchen will serve ham with green beans, potato soup, salad, Panera breads and homemade desserts.
The Community Kitchen is the result of the combined efforts and generosity of organizations and individuals in Masontown and the surrounding area who volunteer their time for the soup kitchen. Volunteers are an essential part of the soup kitchen. To schedule a time to volunteer, call Kathy West at 724-583-9514 or Betty Crable at 724-583-7464. More information about making a contribution is available by contacting them also.
The Community Kitchen is held in the First Presbyterian Church at 102 W. Church Ave. Meals are available every other Tuesday. All meals are free but freewill donations are gratefully accepted and are used for future meals. Please remember to invite someone who is in need of a meal to attend.
American Education Week
The Albert Gallatin Board of Education, superintendent, central administration, principals and faculty welcome the public to visit the schools as the 88th annual American Education Week is observed, Nov. 15-21.
American Education Week spotlights the importance of providing every child in America with a quality public education and the need for everyone to do his or her part in making public schools great.
Schools will be closed for students on Nov. 18 in order to hold parent conferences. Conferences will be held in all schools on that day from 2 to 4 p.m. and again in the evening from 5 to 8.
Building principals will provide additional information on how conferences will be scheduled in your child’s school.
Turkey bingo
The Pal’s Ladies Auxiliary will hold a turkey bingo today beginning at 2 p.m. at the Pal’s Social Hall. Admission is $3 and extra cards will be available for $1. The public is invited to this event.
Friends Christmas party
The Friends of the German-Masontown Library are taking reservations for its annual Christmas party set for Dec. 7 in the library. Dinner will be catered by Chahl’s. Reservation forms and detailed information about the party may be obtained at the library. Deadline for registrations is on Nov. 18.
Craft show
The Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will hold a holiday craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 21. Admission is free.
The kitchen will be open for refreshments and interested vendors are asked to contact Renee Dillow at 724-564-0136 before Nov. 11.
Fruit sale
The Masontown Exchange Club is holding its annual fruit sale until Nov. 19. For sale this season are oranges, grapefruit, a mix of oranges and grapefruit and a trio of oranges, apples and grapefruit.

Pal’s Club auxiliary
The auxiliary Christmas party for the Pal’s Club auxiliary will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Diamond ballroom. Members are to make reservations by Nov. 29. The cost is $5.
