Irene (Cooke) Stark
0000364957-01-1.jpg Irene (Cooke) Stark, age 93, passed away in Hillside Manor Home on November 2, 2009. Irene was born in Uniontown, Pa. on May 24, 1916 to Charles William Cooke and Mary (Grubbs) Cooke.
She lived her entire life in Uniontown and was a member of Grace Chapel Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Stark loved to read and was an active member of the Shakespeare Club. She worked at several retail businesses including Grant’s and Penney’s
Mrs. Stark was preceded in death by her parents, son David Carl Stark, a sister Alice Cooke Hunter and a brother John Charles Cooke.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include: son William Glenn Stark and his wife Carol; granddaughter Jamie (Stark) Richardson and her husband Steve; great-grand-daughter Erika Darlene Richardson, all of Albany, Georgia; sister Janet (Cooke) Linderman and her husband Robert; niece Lois Linderman Vaughn and great nephew Andrew Vaughn, all of Louisville, Kentucky; and granddaughter Katie (Stark) Clark and her husband Chet of Waldorf, Maryland.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 10, from 1 until 2 p.m. at the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 N. Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, PA 15401. A Graveside Service will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery with the Reverend Paul Lesher officiating.
