Stella (Bice) Yanak
0000364963-01-1.jpg Stella Bice Yanak, 97 of Carmichaels, Pa. died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg. Born June 24, 1912 in Novakovec, Croatia, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Jankovich) Bice.
A resident of Carmichaels for the past 41 years having previously resided in Waynesburg, Mrs. Yanak was a member of St. Hugh’s R.C. Church, Carmichaels, was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and watching cooking shows.
She is survived by a daughter Betty Jean Rinehart of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters-in-law:Charlene Yanak of Brownsville and Nellie Yanak of Waynesburg; a sister Dorothy (Bice) Halgus of Belle Vernon, 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a dear friend Wilma ‘Cyd’ Philips.
She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Yanak Sr., two sons Robert and Michael Yanak Jr., three sisters: Ruth McGinsky, Mary Mrkobrad and Milka Magic and a brother Dragec Bice.
Visitation will be held (today) Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held Monday at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Lawrence L. Manchas Pastor of St. Sebastian R.C. Church officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
