Sign

“Gone With the Wind” may be one of Crabby’s favorite movies, but not when it comes to her sign painting jobs. The first “Perryopolis Business District” sign brought a lot more people into town when it was put up in 2000. That sign deteriorated and was replaced in 2004.

The second sign was also deteriorating but was destroyed in an accident in late 2007. The replacement sign was put up in 2008, but was blown away by a freak wind storm in February. The center of the new sign is made of lattice so that the wind can blow through the sign.

The merchants names on smaller pieces of wood are wired on so that they can also move in the wind and not offer resistance.

Thanks to Jesse Ferguson for digging the post holes and to Tom Jolley of Coldwell Banker Tri County Realty, for helping put the sign back up; Crabby was too short to handle it. Anyone with a business in “up town” Perryopolis, and would like your name on the sign, is asked to call Ruthie at 724-736-2578.

The Frazier Community Library will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 24 through Nov. 30. It will reopen Dec. 1 at 2:50 p m.
