Christmas Castle opens

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

The Christmas Castle recently returned to Uniontown Mall, presented by the Uniontown Corps of the Salvation Army, along with its partners, First Niagara Bank, McMillen Engineering, Pickle Radio 99.3 and the mall. The Christmas Castle is a freestanding location that will be a drop-off point and for distribution of new clothing, toys, appliances and monetary donations for less-fortunate people from the Uniontown area. The location is an imaginary Christmas fantasy world that includes: the Elves Workshop, a Toy Shoppe, Ye Olde Household Shoppe, Mitten Mountain, Tots Theater and Mrs. Claus’ Pantry.

Each staging area will be the resting place for the new items that will be donated through Dec. 19. Captains Christopher and Jennifer Blessing, along with various volunteers, will be on site full-time during this period.

The public and business sectors have contributed items to bring about the project.
