Police seek suspect
In brief State police are looking for the man who held up the Cal-Ed Federal Credit Union in California Friday night.
State police in Belle Vernon said the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded that two people working at the credit union at 10 Technology Drive place money into a black or gray leather bag. The suspect fled the building with an undisclosed amount of cash stolen from Megin Jade Appel of Scenery Hill, member’s service representative of the credit union, and credit union teller Denise Brown of Brownsville.
The holdup occurred at 10:40 p.m. Police described the suspect as a thin black man in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing all black clothing and a camouflage bandana covering his face. State police ask that anything with information about the stickup to call Trooper Craig Yauch at the state police barracks in Belle Vernon at 724-929-6262.
Man injured in fall
The Uniontown Fire Department used the aerial truck to rescue a man who reportedly fell from one level of a roof to a lower level at a building along West Main Street around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
A fire department spokesman said the man fell about 10 to 12 feet. The victim, who was not identified, was taken to Uniontown Hospital by Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance Service. Uniontown police assisted at the scene.
