Albert McDowell, age 90, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, November 15, 2009 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born December 27, 1918, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late Stephen McDowell and Effie King McDowell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Louise Altomonte McDowell on August 13, 2004 and his brothers and sisters.

Albert was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army. He loved to travel, watch his favorite TV shows and enjoyed going out to eat.

He is survived by his loving children: Rosemarie Oleksik and husband, William “Bill” Oleksik Sr., of Uniontown with whom he made his home and Albert “Bud” McDowell and wife, Michelle of Uniontown; his loving sister, May Astelford of Uniontown; grandchildren: Mary Lou Monk and husband, John, Albert Anthony McDowell and William “Billy” Oleksik Jr.; several loving nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Jean Altomonte.

Friends will be received at the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. today, November 18, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday morning, November 19, 2009 until 10:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Father Thomas J. Wesdock officiating.

Interment follows in Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Chalk Hill, Pa.

Military Honors will be accorded at graveside.
