Uniontown Clergy Association
Thanksgiving worship service set for Sunday Uniontown Clergy Association will hold its annual community Thanksgiving worship service at 7 p.m. on Sunday at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 60 Morgantown St. “Thanksgiving signals the start of a season that often overwhelms us,” said the Rev. Greg Cooper, pastor of Great Bethel Baptist Church and president of the clergy association. “That’s all the more reason to stop and give thanks to God for his faithfulness to us.”
The service will feature hymns, Scripture readings and a message given by the Rev. Mark Edwards of Covenant Baptist Church. The Dutch Treat men’s quartet will sing. An offering will be taken to support the Uniontown Corps of the Salvation Army. St. Peter’s will host a reception after the service at the parish house.
“We are delighted to be able to have this service at historic St. Peter’s Church,” said Cooper. “Each year, the association prepares a service that brings Christians together in a different host church. This year we will enjoy the beautiful surroundings of St. Peters as we sing, pray and celebrate the ways God has blessed our lives.”
He continued, “The point of the service is to bring Christians together to celebrate God’s blessings in our lives and in our community. At a time when many people are struggling and worried because of the economy, this service helps us remember that God continues to watch over and care for us.”
