Church council meets at Bobtown
Bobtown news Following a successful soup sale day at the Bobtown United Methodist Church on Saturday the monthly meeting of the administrative council for the church was held with Marie Ellenberger presiding over the business.
Pastor Gale Cobb opened the meeting with prayer.
The annual “Hanging of the Greens” worship program will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 29. The tree is to be decorated at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Christmas caroling will be held at 4 p.m. Dec. 20. A pizza party will follow along with a gift exchange of $2 each for those who wish to participate.
Jenna Patrick was given permission for her wedding to be held at the church on Oct. 16, 2010.
Doug Kern spoke at the worship services Nov. 15.
The Christmas candlelight service will remain at 11 p.m. Christmas Eve.
Weekend journey
Paul and Penny Chekosky of Carmichaels and Marie and Jerry Ellenberger enjoyed the weekend in Lawrenceburg, Ind., where they attended the 50th wedding anniversary of Ed and Frances Bishoff. Mrs. Bishoff is the former Frances Johnson of Bobtown and Taylortown. She attended Bobtown Elementary School and Mapletown High School. They are the parents of two children, a son, Larry and a daughter, Lenora, and a granddaughter, Megan Bishoff.
