Greene commissioners mark Farm-City Week

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

Greene County commissioners proclaimed Nov. 20-26 as Farm-City Week in Greene County at their meeting this week. Recognizing the Thanksgiving holiday, Nov. 26, the proclamation encourages residents to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of all who produce and supply the community and the nation with an abundance of agricultural products. Receiving the proclamation were Bill and Lura Ann Cree, who operate a 108-acre dairy farm in Cumberland Township. In 2008, the Crees’ farm was the first Greene County farm entered into the state Department of Agriculture’s Farmland Preservation Program. Participating in the presentation are, seated, Commissioner Dave Coder and, standing, (from left) Bill and Lura Ann Cree, and commissioners Pam Snyder and Archie Trader.
