Robbery thwarted
Franklin Twp. State police in Waynesburg are investigating an attempted robbery at the Seven-Eleven convenience store at 1265 E. High St. that occurred at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday. The incident occurred when a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with his face covered entered the store. Police said the clerk, who was in the back of the store, saw the man enter and secured a door to block access. Police said the man attempted to force open the door and attempted to gain access to the cash register, but was not successful and fled.
The man is described as between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, with a thin build, and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a blue bandana a dark knit cap.

Wayne Twp. Vehicle flips
No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident on Route 218, just north of the West Virginia line, at 2:42 a.m. Tuesday, state police in Waynesburg said.
Police said Gary Zupper Jr., 18, of Spraggs fell asleep while traveling south on Route 218 and his vehicle went off the road, struck a culvert and flipped over. The vehicle came to rest on its side in a yard.
Police said Zupper was wearing a seat belt and the vehicle sustained moderate damage.
Whiteley Twp. Wire stolen
About 25 feet of copper ground wire was stolen from the Cumberland Mine airshaft at the intersection of Dutch Run and Route 2018 between 1:30 a.m. Sunday and 1:10 a.m. Monday, state police in Waynesburg said.
Uniontown Apartment burgled
Tonya Callaway of Pershing Court reported that her apartment was burglarized between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tuesday, Uniontown police said.
Stolen were an iPod and iPod deck and two sets of car speakers. The couch and love seat were damaged and the refrigerator door was left open, police said.
Uniontown Driver charged
Daniel A. Foreman, 22, of Uniontown will face charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a DUI-suspended license following a traffic stop at 11:48 p.m. Monday, Uniontown police said.
Uniontown Man arrested
William Terry Bowser Jr., 37, of Uniontown was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at the intersection of West Berkley Street and Bierer Lane at 3 a.m. Oct. 30, state police said. Charges were filed at the magisterial district judge’s office in Uniontown.
Connellsville Driver arrested
Lance Edward Kessler, 36, of Vanderbilt was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at the intersection of West Crawford Avenue and Kraynak Road at 1:13 a.m. Nov. 1, state police said. Charges were filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty.
North Union Twp. Two charged
Two people were arrested following a disturbance at 304 Woodview Terrace at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, state police said.
Terrence Zigler, 20, of Pittsburgh was charged with a firearms violation after a revolver was found and Levi Jones, 19, of Uniontown was charged with resisting arrest and narcotics possession, police said.
Both men were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis and placed in the Fayette County Jail on $25,000 bond.
Nicholson Twp. Warrant served
Edwin Eugene Victor, 18, of Puritan Village Road was arrested on a warrant for theft and receiving stolen property at his home on Nov. 17, state police said.
Victor allegedly stole a semi-automatic gun from Jackie Murray III, 21, between Oct. 4 and Oct. 14, police said.

Redstone Twp. Two arrested
Two people were arrested following a traffic stop near Route 40 and Grindstone Road at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, township police said.
Richard Grant, 18, of 435 Cross St., Brownsville, was arrested for possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, disorderly conduct and driving on a suspended license and Kera Owens, 26, of 417 Jacobs St., Belle Vernon, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, disorderly conduct and a summary vehicle violation.
Police said Grant was driving when the traffic stop was initiated, and he switched seats with Owens.
Suspected marijuana and prescription pills were found during a search of the vehicle, police said.
Springhill Twp. Signs stolen
State police are investigating an incident in which five 5-by-8-foot emergency signs were stolen from a location at Lake Lynn between 10 a.m. Nov. 16 and 4 p.m. Nov. 17, state police said. The signs are owned by Allegheny Power.
Menallen Twp. Woman charged
Ferne Hay, 35, of Connellsville was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop on Route 51 at 11:02 p.m. Oct. 25, state police said.
Dawson Store burglarized
A 14-year-old boy will be facing charges for breaking a window at the Dairy Store and attempting to steal cigarettes, chewing tobacco and an energy drink at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, state police in Belle Vernon said. The store owners caught the teen as he was attempting to leave.
Charges will be filed with juvenile probation, police said.
Newell Gates damaged
Southwest Regional police are investigating incidents in which 10 poles at Newell ball field and a gate at Newell Park were damaged.
The incidents were reported at 11:42 a.m. Nov. 17.
Police said it is unknown if the incidents are related.

West Pike Run Twp. Vehicle overturns
No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident on California Drive, just west of Route 481, at 2:07 a.m. Nov. 17, state police in Belle Vernon said.
A vehicle driven by Katie M. Williams, 21, of Charleroi was traveling west on California Drive when she lost control and rolled the vehicle onto its roof, police said.
Brownsville Twp. Burglary attempted
Someone attempted to steal three weed trimmers from a shed at 123 Lynn Road between noon Nov. 17 and 9:30 a.m. Nov. 18, state police in Belle Vernon said.
