Loretta Mae “Betty” Colborn Glotfelty
0000366359-01-1.jpg Loretta Mae “Betty” Colborn Glotfelty, R.N., 84, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania passed away Thanksgiving D a y, November 26, 2009 at her home. Born May 31, 1925, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Paul Colborn and Ethel Stull Colborn.
Loretta was a life time member of First Baptist Church of Connellsville and a former member of its Sing-O-Mar Sunday School Class.
She graduated with the Class of 1943 from Connellsville High School and was also a graduate of the now former Uniontown School of Nursing with the class of 1947.
Prior to her retirement in 1979, Loretta worked as a Registered Nurse atUniontown Hospital and then at the now former Connellsville State General Hospital.
The joys of Loretta’s life were attending church, family history, and cooking.
Loretta loved Christmas and everything that went with it!
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Patty Dull and husband Marlyn of Mill Run, Pennsylvania, Susan Rudnik and husband Frank of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, and Nancy Glotfelty and fiance Bernie Gioia of Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania; and her sister, Madeline Rafferty and her husband Willard of Sun City, Arizona.
In addition to her parents, Loretta was predeceased by her husband, Glenn Glotfelty on April 2, 2004; one brother, William Paul Colborn in 1985; and sister, Annabelle Colborn Jordan in 2007.
Family and friends will be received today from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, where a Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 30,2009 at 12 Noon with the Rev. Dean W. Meyer officiating.
A Committal Service and interment will follow in the Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery, Mill Run, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Connellsville, 301 South Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425.
