Paul A. Tony Simon
Paul A. “Tony” Simon, age 82 of Centerville, Brownsville, Pennsylvania died on Friday November 27, 2009 at home. Born February 26, 1927 in East Millsboro, Pennsylvania he was the son of Paul Simon and Margaret Balint Simon.
Mr. Simon graduated inthe Class of 1945 from Brownsville High School.
He retired in 1992 from the Columbia Gas Company.
Mr. Simon was a United States Army veteran of World War II. For his service, he was awarded the Army Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Mr. Simon was a long time member of Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Richeyville.
He was a Life Member and past Commander of the Hancock-McCune-Horn American Legion Post 705 in Centerville and the Miners Club of Richeyville.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting and Penn State Football.
On January 1, 1948 Paul married Audrey Hess Simon. She died June 3, 2002.
Deceased in addition to his wife are his parents; a sister, Catherine Golobish; and one brother, John Simon.
Surviving are: a daughter, Linda Simon McCullough (Robert) of Centerville; a son, David Simon (Jamie) of Denbo Heights, Pennsylvania; two grandsons Jeffrey McCullough of Centerville and Jason Simon (Tracy) of California, Pennsylvania; a brother, David Simon of New Eagle, Pennsylvania; sisters: Mary Theresa Kunkle of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and M. Regina Simon of East Millsboro, Pennsylvania; also several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, Pa., where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday December 1, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Father John Forbidussi officiating.
Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery, West Pike Run Township where Full Military Rites will be accorded by the Hancock-McCune-Horn American Legion Post 705.
