Charles R. Barcheck (CB)

Charles R. Barcheck (CB), 61, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009 in the Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa. He was born February 11, 1948 in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late Ignatius J. Barcheck and Helen A. Orisik Barcheck.

Charles was a United States Veteran serving in the Marines during the Vietnam Era. He was a 1966 graduate of the former South Union High School. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, the Hutchinson Sportsman Club, AMVETS Post 103 and the Polish Club. He was a former employee of the Maple Creek Mine. Charles loved to hunt and play golf. He also took flying lessons and flew solo at times.

He is survived by his loving sisters and brother: Nancy Kish and husband, Dennis of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Doris Scott and husband, David of Uniontown, Pa. and Edward Barcheck and wife, Mary of Uniontown, Pa.; nieces and nephews: Cara Lion, Michael Scott, Kelly Scott, Audra Solarchick and Nicholas Barcheck and great nephew Noah Lion.

Private visitation for the family will be held in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. Friends and Family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial today (Thursday, October 1, 2009) at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Alexander L. Pleban as celebrant. (Please go directly to the church.)

Interment follows in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood.

Military Honors will be accorded at Graveside.

Donations may be made in Charles’ name to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
