Grace Richter Kooser
Grace Richter Kooser, 80, of Normalville, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 in the Excela Health Latrobe Hospital while she was surrounded by her loving Family. Born March 18, 1929 in Normalville, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Earl Richter and Mabel Snyder Richter.
Prior to her retirement, Grace was employed by Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Champion for 18 years.
She also worked at now the former Laurel Highlands Lodge in Donegal for five years.
Grace was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church in Mill Run, Pennsylvania.
Grace is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John French Kooser Sr.; her daughter, Tammy Jordan and husband Mike of Normalville; her sisters: Erma White and Mae Grimm and husband Ed all of Acme, Pennsylvania; and her brothers and sisters-in-law: Bobby and Donna Kooser and Van and Mollie Kooser all of Mill Run, Pennsylvania.
In addition to her parents, Grace was predeceased by her son, John French Kooser Jr. on July 7, 2009; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Ted Nicholson and Beulah and Denver Berger; and her brother-in-law, Ivan White.
Family and Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC. at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Road, Melcroft, Pennsylvania where a Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 3, at 11 a.m. Rev. John Davis will officiate.
Interment follows in Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Family suggests donations be made to the Indian Creek Baptist Church, 311 Baptist Church Road, Mill Run, PA 15464 in memory of Grace Richter Kooser.
