Helen Baker Morris
Helen Baker Morris, age 94, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at her home. Born on September 20, 1915 in Connellsville, Pennsylvania Helen was the daughter of Freeman P. Baker and Daisy Geary Baker.
Helen graduated in the Class of 1934 from Connellsville High School.
She was a member of Order of The Eastern Star No 247.
Mrs. Morris was the oldest living member of Greenwood United Methodist Church in Connellsville.
Helen was predeceased by her parents; by her husband Stanley U. Morris Jr. in 1997; and two sisters, Gladys Adams and Mildred Minerd.
She is survived by three children: Stanley U. Morris III and his wife Kay of Anchorage Alaska, Nancy Lee Morris Miller and her husband Rev. Richard Miller of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and William R. Morris and his wife Daria of Connellsville, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren: Janet Lee Burcope and her husband Alan, Jonathan Miller and Natashia, Laurie Jo Miller and her companion Peter, Jason Miller and Joel Miller; six great grandchildren: Sean, Jonathan, Mateo, Tyandra, Tonya and Kyle; and a sister, Florence Marietta Gongawere of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Friends will be received on Sunday, October 4, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pennsylvania where Services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Miller and the Rev. Randy Costolo officiating.
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Greenwood United Methodist Church, South Ninth and West Green Streets, Connellsville, PA 15425.
The Order of The Eastern Star No. 247 will conduct a Memorial Service in the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7.
