Redstone sets fall cleanup
REDSTONE TWP. – The fall cleanup has been set for Oct. 11-16 in Redstone Township. Township supervisor Ralph Rice said J.C. Sanitation of McClellandtown would be taking extra items during the regular garbage collection that week. Residents may put out up to 14 bags of trash and one or two large items such as appliances or furniture. The Freon must be removed from air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers and the item appropriately tagged for disposal, Rice said.
Rice said the extra items should only be put out on the regular collection day in each area of the township, though they may not be taken at the same time as the regular trash. Multiple trucks will be used each day.
“Be patient. A second truck may be coming,” Rice said.
There are items that cannot be put out for collection. They include construction materials, oil, paint cans, or auto parts, including tires.
Rice said residents should contact J.C. Sanitation with any questions about the cleanup.
