John E. “Pap” Osborne
John E. “Pap” Osborne, 94, of Upper Middletown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born September 30, 1915 in Fayette Co., son of the late Alonzo and Stella McCartey Osborne.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Velma Irene Leichliter Osborne, three sons, Gary, Dale and Robert “Butch” Osborne, six sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are his son, Ronald E. “Gene” “Ozzie” Osborne of Upper Middletown; one sister, Betty Machosky of Upper Middletown; three daughters-in-law: Pat Osborne of Indianapolis, Ind., Judy Osborne of Washington, Pa., Pauletta Osborne of Upper Middletown; three grandsons and a granddaughter: David of Indianapolis, Jeff of Washington, Pa., Jill Dayton and husband, Harry of Washington, Pa., Doug and wife, Shelly of Wheeling, W.Va.; five great-grand-children: Amanda, Madison, Brendon, Britney, McKenzie.
“Pap” was retired from the carpenters Union with over 60 years of service.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, today 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. to Noon the hour of the service, with Rev. Daniel Brant officiating.
Interment will be held in the LaFayette Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Upper Middletown U.M. Church, Fayette Friends of Animals, North Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, or a charity of your choice.
