Veronica “Vera” Faix
Veronica “Vera” Faix, 86 of New Kensington, Pa. and formerly of Masontown, Pa., died on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 peacefully of Altzheimer’s surrounded by her family at the home of her son Michael. She was born November 29, 1922 in New Kensington to the late Albert and Anna Krawczykiewicz (Kraft) and was also preceded in death by her husband Rudolph “Rudy” Faix in 2000, two sisters: Ann Lacinski, Blanche Stewart and two infant sisters.
A former member of St. Mary of Czestochowa R. C. Church, New Kensington; she also was a former member of All Saints Church in Masontown where she and her husband lived for 35 years before moving to Coraopolis with her Son. Mrs. Faix was a devout Catholic and currently was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Robinson Twp.
In her earlier years, she worked as an operator for the Bell Telephone Co. in New Kensington. She also was a former member of the Masontown Garden Club for many years and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving her are three sons: Arthur Faix of Warren, Pa., Robert (Dorsey) Faix of Pittsburgh and Michael (Denise) Faix of Coraopolis; two daughters: Stephany (Michael “Mickey”) Soroka of New Kensington and Rebecca (Tom) Reid of Westlake Village, Calif. Also surviving her are 10 grandchildren: Allison, Art Jr. and Meredith Faix, William “Billy”, Brooke, Shannon and Daniel “Danny” Faix, Derek “T.O.”, Taylor and Justin Faix; four brothers: Paul “Tony” Krawczykiewicz, Vero Beach, Florida, John “Babe” Krawczykiewicz, New Kensington, Stanley “Stuck” Krawczykiewicz, Redondo Beach, Calif. and William Krawczykiewicz, Redlands, Calif.; two sisters: Jane Balla, New Kensington and Patricia Staley, New Kensington.
Friends will be received Friday, October 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 in the GIUNTA -BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., family owned and operated for over 60 years, 1509 Fifth Avenue, Arnold, Pa.
Prayers of transfer will take place in the Funeral Home on Saturday at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Czestochowa R. C. Church.
Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, Lower Burrell.
