Greene Academy accepts resignations
The directors of the Greene Academy of Art met in the academy at Carmichaels on Sept. 22 and accepted with regret the resignation of Pete and Nancy Reynolds as co-chairmen of the Covered Bridge Festival. They served that position admirably for the past nine years. A committee was named to recommend replacements for them.
President Brice Hartley thanked them and the many directors and volunteers who made the recent 39th Covered Bridge Festival very successful.
Recognition also went to Ron Fortney for security and to Adam and Abby Rankin for face painting the children both days.
The next event at the academy will be the 31st Greene Academy Homecoming and Christmas Craft Show. It will be held Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 15 from noon to 4 p.m.
Kathy Kerr, craft show chairman, reported she is receiving vendor applications daily. The academy kitchen will be operated by the Hartley Inn both days. Further details will be announced at the Oct. 27 meeting of the directors.
