Trick-or-treat set
In brief… Carmichaels Borough Council on Tuesday scheduled trick-or-treating for 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 31 and announced that a Halloween parade will take place Oct. 25 beginning at 2 p.m.
The parade will start in the parking lot of Yoskovich Funeral Home and proceed along South Market Street to the town square.
In other business, a 10-by-14-foot storage shed was donated to the borough, said borough secretary Mary Lewis. The shed will be used to store street equipment.
The Fayette County Election Bureau has announced that the official vote count for the results of the Tuesday, Nov. 3, municipal election will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6.
Police are reminding borough residents of parking restrictions during Saturday’s homecoming parade for California University of Pennsylvania. California police Chief Richard Encapera said that the parking restrictions will be enforced from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. along the parade route, including the 200, 300, 400 and 500 blocks of Second Street, the 200, 300 and 400 blocks of Third Street and the 200 block of Union Street. Encapera said that during the five-hour time frame no vehicles will be permitted to park on either side of the streets to allow space for the parade.
He said that any vehicle that is parked in the parade route will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Trash bins for Uniontown’s Lafayette Area Concerned Citizens’ neighborhood cleanup on Saturday will be located at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Lenox Street, which is a new location. Volunteers are needed to help remove trash and litter from streets and alleys from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
