Uniontown Pumpkin Festival postponed
The Pumpkin Festival at American Legion Post 51 on North Gallatin Avenue in Uniontown has been postponed because of inclement weather forecast for Saturday and has been rescheduled for Oct. 24 from noon to 5 p.m. The event will feature music, a car show, arts, crafts and food vendors, a display of some of the Uniontown’s Police Department vehicles and equipment, and a variety of children’s’ activities including a punt, pass, and kick competition, pumpkin bowling and a pumpkin drop.
The free punt, pass and kick competition, which is open to children up to 14 years old, begins at 2 p.m. The pumpkin drop and pumpkin bowling are open to kids up to 16 years old.
In the pumpkin drop, contestants will use various packing materials, which will be provided, to help pumpkins survive a 25-foot drop from a fire truck. Pumpkins will be provided. Children can register for $1 beginning at 1 p.m. The contest starts at 3:30 p.m.
